How much does a private driver cost in Cape Town?

What a family-owned Cape Town driver-guide service charges for, what the price includes, and how to see your own price in 3 steps.

Short answer

With Private Driver Service Cape Town, the price of a private driver-guide and vehicle depends on three things: the day you choose (Cape Town city and the Cape Peninsula, the Cape Winelands, or an airport transfer), how many guests are travelling (up to 8 in one vehicle) and your date. Choose those three on our booking page and your price shows straight away. Hermanus, the Garden Route and groups over 8 are quoted on WhatsApp.

What the price includes

  • Your private vehicle, a Hyundai H1 with 8 seats, for your group only.
  • Andre as your driver and guide, with the day planned around you.
  • Fuel.
  • Pickup from and return to your accommodation.

Not included unless your quote says so: tolls, parking, entrance fees (such as Cape Point or Boulders Beach), activities, meals and drinks.

What changes the price

  • Hours. A tour day is 8 hours, and extra hours can be added. Need fewer hours? No problem — you can finish early; the day rate stays the same.
  • Distance. Hermanus, the Garden Route and multi-day trips cover long distances, so they are quoted on request for your route.
  • Group size. The day price covers up to 4 guests, with a set amount for each extra guest up to 8. Over 8 people, a bigger vehicle is quoted on request.
  • Language. Our driver-guides speak English; a German-speaking driver-guide is available on request.
  • Extras we arrange. Hotels, flights, road transport and boat cruises can be booked for you and added to the same quote.
